A new year...

...and a new blog. (Okay, so it's my first blog -- whatever.) I'm starting this year with a few goals -- to eat healthy, exercise regularly, and expand my cooking repertoire. The holiday season certainly took a toll -- aside from a few extra pounds, I ended up with a serious cookie problem. And although I checked my freezer for a few oatmeal cookies that may have been left behind, unfortunately it only had frozen seafood and soups. The only thing to do was to bake more cookies.

I'm modifying this recipe for salted oatmeal cookies somewhat. I don't have any chocolate lying around, and I am not heading outside to shop for baking supplies at the local Macs. But... I do have some leftover coconut and dried cranberries. So I've decided to soak the cranberries in some cherry brandy, and try adding both the coconut and the cranberries into the mix. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Update: In case anyone was wondering, the cookies were a little too tasty.
