Turkey chili

I was interested in checking out a new chili recipe, but this one ended up diverging so far from the original that it's not even close. I added turkey (goodbye vegan), dropped one of the three beans (sorry navy), changed the seasoning (hello Mexican oregano), added more ingredients (who doesn't like beer?)... but in the end it's still just a chili. It turned out to be a fairly tasty chili, although not as good as the other one... which I highly recommend.

Turkey chili

2 lbs ground turkey
one jumbo onion, chopped
2 sweet red BC peppers, chopped
1 hot red BC pepper, minced
several cloves of garlic, minced
1 large can diced tomatoes
1 large New Mexico chili, powdered in spice mill
1 tsp chili powder (some other kind I had...)
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp Mexican oregano
1 can red kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 bottle of pale ale
1 can tomato sauce
1/4 c white corn flour
cilantro, finely chopped
lime juice
green onions, finely chopped

Cook the ground turkey and let it drain in a colander. Saute the onions, peppers, and garlic. Add the seasoning, the tomatoes, and some of the beer and let simmer for a while. Once it's cooked down a bit add the cooked turkey, along with a little more beer and tomato sauce (if needed). Let simmer for a while longer. Add the beans and (you know the drill) simmer some more. Add the white corn flour and simmer for five more minutes - almost there! Stir in some lime juice and cilantro, adjust the seasonings, and it's done. Serve topped with some sliced green onions.
